Designer Peafowl
There are only 3 breeds of peafowl that occur in nature: the India Blue native to India, the Java Green native to IndoChina, and the Congo Peafowl native to Africa. 
Three subspecies are recognized in the Java Green population; the Burmese, the Chinese, and the Java.
Breeding enthusiasts have been selectivley breeding the India Blue for a variety of colors and patterns mutations.
One of the most striking is a pure white Java Green.

What are Designer Peafowl?
There are two types of color mutations found in India Blue: color and pattern. Color simply refers to the primary color of the peacock. Pattern mutations effect how the color is distributed, or presented.
There are 10 colors currently recognized: blue, white, purple, cameo, bronze, opel, midnight, peach, jade, and charcoal. The 5 pattern mutations are barred wing, black shoulder, pied, silver pied, and white eyed. All kinds of color and pattern combinations are possible and have been developed.
All of these mutations are recessive in the wild-type color and pattern, meaning that a peachick must get a gene from both parents to show the mutant color or pattern.
Crosses between India Blue and Java Green are called Spaldings. A Spalding crossed back to a Green is called an Emerald. To see how the neck feathers progress with each breeding, take a look at the picture of the neck hackle on the right.
